Helping the Church become a safe place for the wounded.

Trauma education for Christians and churches—rooted in lived experience, trauma-informed training, and a deep love for Jesus and the Church.

Trauma leaves real wounds—and how we respond matters.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Trauma impacts how people experience faith, relationships, and the Church.

When trauma isn’t understood, even well-intentioned care can miss the mark—leaving survivors feeling unseen, unsafe, or misunderstood.

Why I Do This Work

I love Jesus. I love the Church. And I believe the Church can be one of the most powerful places of healing for those impacted by trauma—when we understand trauma well.

I am both a trauma survivor and a trauma educator. My lived experience gives me deep compassion for those carrying unseen wounds, and my trauma education equips me to help Christians and churches understand how trauma impacts faith, relationships, and spiritual formation.

I am also a pastor’s wife and have served in ministry for over 25 years. Through decades of life and leadership within the Church, I’ve walked alongside individuals, families, and communities navigating pain, loss, and trauma. This long-standing ministry experience has given me a deep respect for the Church—and an honest understanding of where trauma is often misunderstood, not because of a lack of faith, but because of a lack of trauma awareness.

Today, my work is focused on equipping Christians and churches with a biblical and trauma-informed framework—so care is wise, discipleship is safer, and survivors are met with compassion rather than confusion.

More About My Story
  • Teresa helped me uncover some deep childhood trauma which revealed the truth God wanted me to live by. Through this journey of healing, Teresa never failed to remind me that I desperately needed Christ at the center of my life. Without judgement and with a sincere, gentle way Teresa helped me to forgive without getting closure on the opposing end. She helped me find answers, explanations, clarity and actual names to define what and why I was feeling the way I was in result of unresolved, cycled trauma. Although I anticipate this to be a lifelong commitment to believing what God says I am and trusting his goodness, Teresa laid the groundwork that was essential to thrive. My life has been completely transformed this past year and I am forever grateful for the work God has done through Teresa to help others.” - Krystal

  • I am a 64-year-old pastor’s wife who had been living in pain for decades from childhood trauma. I was skeptical as I had spent the past twenty years sitting in various seats of ineffective counseling – working with counselors who missed the real trauma, causing further frustration and difficulty. I really had no idea what depths of hurt remained in my life, but Teresa did. Teresa has leaned in and really listened to what I was saying and, what I was not saying. She has validated my abuse and given me helpful tools for my healing process. Teresa so carefully helped me unpack the layers of trauma as she has great understanding of what abuse can do to the body and to the very soul. Inevitably during our sessions together, Teresa would ask a question that brought me to my own “aha” moments that I owned, and between me and God privately, it would prove to have lasting effect. I am so thankful for Teresa and her passion to be used of God to see others experience thorough and right healing. I highly recommend her effective coaching. - Naomi
